Herik is a member of the Press Council's KTP2JB (Indonesian Television Journalists Association). A graduate of Budi Luhur University's Masters in Communication Studies, he currently serves as Chairman of the Indonesian Television Journalists Association.

Herik also serves as Editor-in-Chief of RCTI and GTV, as well as media outlets within the MNC Network.

Herik has also written two novels, "When Love Chases the Show," and "Bukune," published in 2011.
